Since working on “The American Dream”, I realize that freedom is one of the popular dreams of the Americans. Probably freedom does not have the same meaning for different people. To me, freedom is to not be tied down by anything or anyone. It also means being able to do whatever you want. You can see it clearly in America. People in the U.S. are given the rights in everything. They have the rights of speech, rights of religion, and rights of press. Even people have rights to ask for compensations for wrong- doing of the Government. For example, people have right to meet together and institute any groups they want. The government respects that and makes no law to prohibit. Certainly, it is more important for public security than personal freedom. If everyone only care about their personal freedom and do whatever they want without the government stopping it, the country would be disordered. For example, the government does not stop the robbers plundering from others; many people would lose their own properties, even get hurt. I think we should not be free to do whatever we want as long as it does not directly harm someone else. Not harming people directly does not mean we do not cause damage for them. After all, people have freedom to do whatever they want, but it has to be in a determined allowed scope. Therefore, people can be happy and comfortable with what they do and not harm someone else.

I truely agree that with the first line where you said that freedom is one fo the popular dreams for the americans because that’s a benefit we have in the U.S.A. You are right that freedom is being able to do what you want but without harming others because the country would be in a disorder. Lastly, you did a very great job in this beautiful piece of writing.
